IBM Cloud platform: how to buy

Our website has product information for bare-metal pre-configured services. All prices are displayed in US dollars in the IBM Cloud Customer Portal. IBM Cloud KnowledgeLayer has more information around technical requirements. You can also contact your Telstra representative with any questions.

Australian customers, you’ll need an ABN 

To purchase IBM Cloud platform you must have an Australian Business Number (ABN). The service is charged in Australian dollars by Telstra. Global organisations with offices in Australia can buy IBM Cloud as an Australian customer using their ABN.


Register through the Cloud Services Store 

The Cloud Services Store is where you can register to use our cloud services, including IBM Cloud platform.


Existing Telstra customers can access the Cloud Services Store using a Telstra username and password.


If your business is outside Australia and you want to get started with our cloud services, you can also contact us or your account representative.


Buying through the IBM Cloud Customer Portal

You can buy a pre-configured IBM Cloud platform or configure your own platform through the IBM Cloud Customer Portal. You’ll need to register through Telstra’s Cloud Services Store before you can buy pre-configured options. Once registered, go to the IBM Cloud Customer Portal (Account > Sales > Quotes) to select and order a pre-configured service.


Pricing – US and Australian dollars 

The IBM Cloud platform is sold globally and quoted in a single currency, the US dollar. The IBM Cloud website and IBM Cloud Customer Portal display pricing in US dollars. Payment for Australian customers is required in Australian dollars, directly to Telstra. For Telstra customers outside Australia, your Global Business Services Agreement will outline your billing arrangement.

After you’ve registered for your IBM Cloud platform from Telstra


You can:

  • View quotes, order and manage IBM Cloud platform resources through the IBM Cloud Customer Portal
  • Connect a Telstra IP network service to your IBM Cloud platform
  • Add users through the Cloud Services Portal
  • Get support from Telstra
