How to log in with Microsoft Azure Active Directory

by Community Manager ‎16-06-2015 10:58 AM - edited ‎05-10-2016 01:56 PM

Does your organisation use Microsoft services such as Office 365 or OneDrive for Business? If so, then users can use their work accounts (what is a work account?) to log in to access the organisation’s Telstra cloud services (such as Cisco Cloud Services).

First, you’ll need to connect your organisation’s Telstra Cloud Services account to your Azure Active Directory (what is Azure Active Directory?). Adding your cloud account to your Azure Active Directory service will not incur a fee from Telstra. You can only connect your Telstra Cloud Services account to one Azure Active Directory service.

Don’t have an Azure Active Directory service? Find out more or purchase the service from Microsoft Azure.

This knowledge article looks at:

  • How to connect to your Azure Active Directory service
  • How to add users to your Telstra Cloud Services account
  • How users can access an organisation’s cloud services using a work account

How to connect to your Azure Active Directory service

You need to be a super administrator to log in to the Cloud Services Portal and then connect your Telstra Cloud Services account to your Azure Active Directory service.

The first person from your organisation to start using Telstra Cloud Services is automatically assigned the super administrator role. They can allocate the Telstra Cloud Services super administrator role to other users in the organisation. Super administrators can purchase, modify and access their organisation’s cloud services.

Here’s how to connect your Telstra Cloud Services to an Azure Active Directory service:

Step 1 - Are you a Cloud Services Portal super administrator? Log in to the portal

Step 2 - Go to the portal’s ‘users’ section.

Step 3 - Select the ‘connect to your Azure Active Directory’ link to go to the login and consent pages.

Contact us if you’ve you connected the wrong Azure Active Directory service.

How to add users from your Azure Active Directory service to your Telstra Cloud Services account

Users can be added after the organisation’s Telstra Cloud Services account has been connected to an Azure Active Directory service.

Here’s how:

Step 1 - Log in to Cloud Services Portal and go to ‘users’ section.

Select the ‘add user’ button.

Step 2 - Enter the user’s:

  • Email address (work account)
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Phone number

Step 3 - Select the ‘add user’ button.

The user may be sent an email. If so, they’ll need to select the email’s link in order to consent to adding their work account before they can log in and access the organisation’s cloud services.

The user may contact a super administrator from your organisation if they can’t find the email or need help with the consent process.

Repeat this process to add more users.

To check if the user has provided consent, go to the Cloud Services Portal’s ‘users’ section and select the ‘consent status’ link.

To remove a user, click the box next to the user’s name and select the ‘remove user’s access’ link.

How a user can access an organisation’s cloud services using a work account

To purchase and access the organisation’s cloud services, users may first need to select ‘accept’ on the consent page to being added to the organisation’s Azure Active Directory-connected Telstra Cloud Services account.

What is a work account?

Here’s how:

Step 1 - The user’s work account must first be added to the organisation’s Azure Active Directory-enabled Telstra cloud Services account

Step 2 - We’ll send the user an email. They’ll need to select the email link to access the login and consent pages.

Select the ‘accept’ button. Selecting the ‘accept; button will allow Telstra Cloud Services to access and add the user’s email address and contact information to the organisation’s cloud account.

If they haven’t received an email from us then they’ll need to contact a Cloud Services Portal cloud administrator from the organisation.

Step 3 - They’ll then be able to access the organisation’s cloud services whenever their work accounts are active.

Need to change your work account password? Refer to Microsoft’s perform a self-service password reset’ documentation for more information.
