Telstra Calling for Office 365

Microsoft Licences

What Microsoft Office 365 licences are required for Telstra Calling for Office 365 (TCO365)?

You must have the below pre-requisite licence subscriptions in Office 365 for each of your users in order for TCO365 to be utilised:

Microsoft 365 Enterprise E5

Microsoft 365 Enterprise E3 + Phone System

Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise E5

Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise E3 + Phone System

Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise E1 + Phone System

Microsoft Office Business Premium + Skype for Business (Plan 2) + Phone System

Microsoft Office 365 Education A5 for Faculty (must have a valid school email address to qualify)

Microsoft Office 365 Education A5 for Students (must have a valid school email address to qualify)

Office 365 Enterprise E5 (NFP)

Office 365 Enterprise E3 (NFP) + Phone System

Office 365 Enterprise E1 (NFP) + Phone System

Common Area Phone

The Phone System is a mandatory requirement as it provides calling capabilities that support Telstra Calling for Office 365. E5 subscriptions and Common Area Phone include Phone System.

Do I need to purchase pre-requisite Microsoft licences from Telstra?

If you currently purchase your licences from another Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), then you will need to move your pre-requisite licence subscriptions to Telstra in order to purchase Telstra Calling for Office 365.

Customers under a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA) can continue with their pre-requisite licences provided from Microsoft directly, and purchase Telstra Calling for Office 365 separately from Telstra.

Does Telstra have to be my Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP)?

Yes, you must authorise Telstra as your delegate CSP in order to purchase Telstra Calling for Office 365. This is even the case when your pre-requisite licence subscriptions are with Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA).

Why does Telstra have to be my Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP)?

Telstra must be a CSP for your Office 365 service in order to provide assurance and support for this voice calling service. Telstra must therefore remain an ongoing administrator of your tenancy for the duration you are using TCO365. Telstra would not be in a position to comply with assurance service levels and therefore reserves the right to cancel your Telstra Calling for Office 365 as it becomes an unsupported service configuration.

In addition to this, all current and future pre-requisite licences must be linked to the TCO365 licences in the Microsoft Administrator portal in order for Telstra to provide support of the service.

How do I transfer licences from another CSP to Telstra?

Fill in this form: https://say.telstra.com.au/customer/general/forms/adding-telstra-as-your-cloud-solution-provider

Where can I find pricing for required/compatible Microsoft licences?

Visit the Telstra Apps Marketplace (TAM): https://marketplace.telstra.com/home

Where can I purchase pre-requisite Microsoft licences?

Visit the Telstra Apps Marketplace (TAM): https://marketplace.telstra.com/home

Can my Microsoft tenancy be located outside of Australia?

No, your Office365 tenancy must be within Australia. This is due to the licencing structure of Microsoft CSP. The Telstra Apps Marketplace (TAM) is unable to add Australian licence subscriptions (including TCO365) to non-Australian tenancies.

Are compatible non-for-profits Microsoft licences available?

The below compatible Microsoft Office 365 non-for-profit licences will be available in time for general availability of TCO365:

Office 365 Enterprise E5 (NFP)

Office 365 Enterprise E3 (NFP) + Phone System

Office 365 Enterprise E1 (NFP) + Phone System

Calling Service

Can I extend the service to users outside of Australia?

Telstra Calling for Office 365 is currently only available in Australia to Australian businesses. Customers must have an ACN/ABN to qualify, and must be a Telstra customer. It is possible to use the service temporarily while overseas but Telstra can only support the use under a ‘best efforts’ bases.

How do I find out if I’m eligible to purchase Telstra Calling for Office 365?

Please fill out this form: https://say.telstra.com.au/customer/general/forms/telstra-calling-365

We will be in touch with you shortly.

Eligible customers are Telstra Enterprise and Premium Business customers. Please note that if you are a small business customer, you may not qualify or be eligible for Telstra Calling for Office 365.

Consenting Support

Does TCO365 use off-shore data handling or support services?

Yes, Telstra provides a service desk as part of the Telstra Calling for Office 365 (TCO365) service. This service desk may provide its service from within Australia or from overseas. The service desk is a single point of contact for customer administration support, incident and service request management in relation to your TCO365 Service.

Customer Data (including Personal Information as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) collected through a Microsoft Cloud Service may be transferred and stored and processed in the United States, Australia, Singapore or any other country in which Microsoft or its service providers and their subcontractors maintain facilities. This applies to TCO365.

Number Management, Migration and Porting

Is international IDD call barring available when using TCO365?

The calling capabilities of the end users who utilise the TCO365 service is dependent on Office 365 feature capabilities. Office 365 supports call barring to international destinations (IDD). IDD barring can be enabled per end user using a PowerShell command script in the Office 365 Administration Centre. Refer to the Microsoft TechNet website for details.

Is premium number call barring available when using TCO365?

The calling capabilities of end users who utilise the TCO365 service is dependent on Office 365 feature capabilities. Premium numbers such as 19xx numbers, 1234, 12456, 13 and 1300 numbers cannot be barred. Microsoft are working on a feature improvement in the future that will allow the configuration of this type of barring for each end user.

How do I migrate my existing Telstra phone numbers to Telstra Calling for Office 365?

Our project team will work with you on a site-by-site basis to manage the migration of your Telstra phone numbers to Telstra Calling for Office 365. Through our service discovery and detailing stages, we will assess and validate the eligibility of your existing numbers. Once validated, Telstra can configure your number into Microsoft Office 365.

Migration is a gradual experience for several popular Telstra services, due to an interim migration cutover phase that allows the user to make and receive calls via TCO365 while using the existing service in parallel. We will provide you with an 1800 number, which you can use to forward calls from your previous service. When all testing is satisfactory, Telstra can then cut you over to TCO365 in its entirety.

How do I port my existing phone number to/from Telstra Calling for Office 365?

Local number portability is available if you want to switch phone service providers but keep your existing telephone numbers.

To port your number from another provider to Telstra, speak to your Account Executive. Telstra will be in touch to obtain further details on these numbers to commence the process. We will work with you and your previous provider to ensure a simple and smooth transition. Telstra charges for this service as part of a Professional Service package.

To port your Telstra number to another provider, you will need to raise this request with your new provider. They will then contact Telstra directly to arrange this process.

How do I set up new users with TCO365?

You will need to have purchased a new Telstra Calling for Office 365 calling plan to allocate to a new user. You will need to also request new phone numbers from Telstra at the same time unless you already have spare numbers you can use.

You can purchase a calling plan and request new numbers via the Telstra Apps Marketplace. Then use the Office 365 Administration Centre to allocate this plan and phone number to your new user. Once allocated, a dial pad will appear in their Office 365 Skype for Business or Teams client and they can start making calls.

What phone numbers can I use with my service?

TCO365 phone numbers are standard Full National phone numbers (i.e. 02 xxxx xxxx, or 03 xxxx xxxx). There are no special or premium 13x or 1800 numbers allocated directly into Office 365. These numbers can only be purchased separately and then directed to a TCO365 full national phone number.

Service Desk

Is a help desk provided with the service?

Telstra provides a service desk as part of the TCO365 service. The support desk contact details will be sent to you when the service is fully commissioned in our support system.

The service desk is a single point of contact for the initial triage and diagnostics of all elements of the TCO365 service. The service desk is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with limited support after hours for incident reporting.

What is the Telstra Event Detection (TED) API?

Q – What is the Telstra Event Detection (TED) API?

A – The Telstra Event Detection (TED) API is a subscription based service from Telstra that enables Customer to be alerted when a particular network event is detected that may indicate there is fraudulent misuse of an end users mobility service about to occur.

Q - What are the network events that the TED API can detect?

A – Currently the TED API is able to detect a bundle of events associated with Telstra SIM SWAPs.

Q- Can TED API detect number porting between operators other than Telstra? E.g. Optus to Vodafone?

A – No we don’t report these type of events in this release.

Q – How quickly are the network events detected?

A – This will vary depending on the event being detected, but generally we detect the event within a couple of seconds of it occurring and notify subscribers within near real time via the API.

Q – How long does Telstra store the event data for?

A – Event data is stored for 90 days from the occurrence of the event and then securely purged.

Q - Is there a limit to the number of subscribed mobile numbers I can have for the Telstra Event Detection API?

A – No. You may have as many Telstra Event Detection API subscribed mobile numbers as you require within practical limits.

Q – Why is monitoring for SIM SWAP events important?

A – Criminals are becoming much more savvy and will often try to circumvent two factor authentication protocols, by swapping the SIM card for a particular mobile number in order to gain fraudulent access to the users service. Monitoring for SIM SWAP events can provide early detection that this is occurring and help prevent criminals from being successful in their endeavours.

Q – If an end user is currently a customer of a Telstra Reseller that still utilises the Telstra Network, am I able to detect their Network events?

A – No. Telstra resellers such as Aldi Mobile are a Virtual Mobile Network Operator (MVNO) customer that operate as totally independent businesses to Telstra. Telstra SIM Swap API does not monitor MNVO network events in this release.

Q – How do I purchase Telstra Event Detection API?

A – At the moment Telstra Event detection API is only available through your Telstra Account Manager.

Q – What support options are available for the Telstra Event Detection API?

A –We provide 24/7 telephone based technical support along with email support and online community forum.

Q – Do you detect network events from another carrier?

A – TED API detects network events that associated with the Telstra network and Telstra service.

Q- Which Telstra personnel have access to the event detection data?

A – Access to Telstra Event Detection data is restricted to only Telstra personnel that require access for the purposes of providing the service.

Q – Why should I purchase the Telstra Event Detection API from Telstra?

A – As the network events are occurring on the Telstra network, Telstra is in a position to be able to provide fast notifications of an event as it is occurring, helping subscribers to prevent fraudulent activity from occurring and to minimise the resulting financial losses.

Q – If I require assistance setting up my Telstra Event Detection API, are there any Professional Services options available to me?

A – At the current time, the Telstra Event Detection API does not have any Professional Service options available.

Q – What subscription options are available for Telstra Event Detection API?

A – There is a Pay As You Go (PAYG) plan or 12 Month contract option available.

Q – Do Early Termination Charges (ETC’s) apply?

A – If you have subscribed to a 12 month plan and want to terminate the plan or downgrade to a lower plan before the expiry of your existing 12 month term, ETC’s will apply.

Q – How are Early Termination Charges (ETC’s) Calculated?

A – If you are on a 12 month contract for the TED API and your agreement with Telstra is terminated for any reason (other than our material breach) before the end of the 12 month minimum term, we may charge you any waived service charges. In addition, you will be deemed to have been on a PAYG plan from the start of your subscription term until the date of termination. The applicable charges for your receipt of the TED API will therefore be recalculated in accordance with the PAYG plan terms based on your actual consumption during the relevant period. Where this recalculation results in you owing additional charges to Telstra under the PAYG plan, you are required to pay the difference between the charges you have already paid under your 12 month contract and the charges that are due as a result of your conversion to a PAYG plan for the relevant period. ETCs are therefore calculated as follows:
ETC = B – A
Where:
A = the total fees already paid by you under your 12 month contract up to the date of termination; and
B = the amount that is payable by you under a PAYG plan up to the date of termination based on your actual monthly consumption.
Where the recalculation does not result in you owing additional charges to Telstra, no Early Termination Charge is payable by you, but you are not entitled to a refund from Telstra.

Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2: network connections

Is the Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 service connected to the internet?

Your Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 service is provisioned with a Telstra internet connection by default. This includes internet and SMTP mail relay traffic.

How do I create a private network connection?

For services in Melbourne and Sydney, you’ll be provided with an SSL VPN connection and have the option of using our Cloud Gateway service to connect to the Telstra IP network.

Perth data centre users must select either a Telstra IP network connection or SSL VPN.

What is NSX and can I use it?

VMware NSX® is the network virtualisation used on the Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 service. To ensure compliance with our security best practice, access is not given to infrastructure that is managed by us to support your service – this includes NSX.

Is a firewall provided and can I access it?

Firewalls are provided for both your public and private networks to increase the security and privacy of your virtual servers.

Both private networks and public networks are created with default firewall rules – all network traffic is allowed by default on the private network, and all traffic is blocked by default on the public network. These rules can by updated via the Cloud Services management console.

See the Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 network and security guide for more information.

Can I add load balancers?

Yes. You can request load balancers from the Load balancers page in the Network & security section of the Cloud Services management console.

See the Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 network and security guide for more information.

Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2: charges and billing

Where can I find prices?

Details of fees for Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 services and add-on resources can be found on our pricing guide.

When does charging start?

You’ll begin to be charged when your service is provisioned.

How will I be billed?

All charges, additional usage and any applicable add-on fees will be charged to your Telstra account.

How does billing work if I have multiple accounts?

If you have multiple Telstra billing IDs, you can select the ID you want your services charged to when you make your first purchase.

Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2: view and manage

How do I manage my Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 service?

You can manage your service via VMware vCenter and the Cloud Services management console.

The VMware vCenter is a a centralised application that lets you manage virtual machines on each of your blades. Resources such as CPU, RAM and storage can be scaled up and down to meet your needs. The Cloud Services management console allows you to:

• View and submit modification requests against your dedicated resources – blades, clusters and storage

• Create clusters

• Find the IP address on your vCenter server

• Request public IP address and management IP address

• Request a backup of your virtual server data

• Configure, manage and remove your backup set-up

• Submit and manage various network requests

• View your activity log

For more details on managing your service, see the Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 user guide. For information on managing associated network resources see the Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 network and security guide.

How do I gain access to VMware vCenter?

Using VMware® vCenter Server, two roles are provided for your virtual servers with similar privileges granted; however there are a few additional privileges in the VM level role:

1. Customer Access Role with vCenter level privileges in vSphere, and

2. Customer Access Role VM level privileges in vSphere. You’ll receive credentials for five vCenter users and one VM level when your service is activated.

To ensure compliance with our security best practice, access is not given to infrastructure that is managed by us to support your service See the Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 user guide for details.

How do I give users access to the Cloud Services management console?

If you already have access to the management console, you can immediately add as many Telstra cloud email login users as you like through the Cloud Services management console’s ‘account’ section.

If you don’t have the Cloud Administrator role assigned to you, you’ll need to have it assigned to you by your company's authorised representative. If you are the Authorised Representative, by default you will already have the Cloud Administrator role assigned to you.

If you have a business or enterprise login

If you have a business login (without a business ID), you can only add users through the Cloud Services management console.

If you have a business login (with a business ID), Your Company Authorised User and Company Administrative User can grant Cloud Administrator access through Telstra Business’ My Account portal.

If you have an enterprise login and you are your company’s Authorised Representative or Administrative User, you can grant access through Enterprise & Government’s Your Telstra Tools portal.

How do I assign user access to the Cloud Services management console via Telstra Business’ My Account portal?

Your company's administrator user is responsible for managing access to the Cloud Services management console.

Step 1 – Log into My Account

Select the home' tab. Select 'give someone account access' from the ‘account settings’ section.

Step 2 – New user?

Set up an account Select 'Create New User'. You'll receive an email with the new user's login details.

Step 3 – Select the user

Select 'Update Product Access' from the user's details page.

Step 4 - Assign cloud user permissions

Select either:

• Cloud Authorised Purchaser – authorisation to purchase Cloud Services

• Cloud Administrator – authorisation to access the Cloud Services management console and manage your cloud solution on behalf of your company.

Select the ‘update’ button.

People who have been assigned the Cloud Administrator permission can also grant users direct access to the Cloud Services management console via Account > Manage cloud users.

How do I assign user access to the Cloud Services management console via Telstra Enterprise & Government’s Your Telstra Tools portal?

Your company's Telstra authorised representative is responsible for managing user access to the Cloud Services management console.

Step 1 - Log into Your Telstra Tools

Select the 'Your Profile' tab or 'Manage your users'.

Step 2 – New user? Set up an account

Select 'Create New User'.

Step 3 – Select the user

Select 'Change' from the user's details page.

Step 4 - Assign cloud user permissions

From 'Managing services', select either:

• Cloud Authorised Purchaser – authorisation to purchase Cloud Services

• Cloud Administrator – authorisation to access the Cloud Services management console and manage your cloud solution on behalf of your business.

People who have been assigned the Cloud Administrator permission can also grant users direct access to the Cloud Services management console via Account > Profile > Manage cloud users.

What can and can’t I do with my new Telstra cloud email login?

The Telstra cloud email login registered during purchase can only be used for logging into the Cloud Services management console.

You can’t view your online bill with this username and password, or access and manage any of your other Telstra services.

To access your other Telstra services and view your bills, customers based in Australia need a Telstra Business or Telstra Enterprise & Government username, password and/or a business ID. Contact your Telstra representative if you require login access to the Telstra Business or Telstra Enterprise & Government portals.

What are affinity and anti-affinity rules and how do I apply them?

Once your service is activated, you can opt to control the placement of virtual machines on blades (hosts) within a cluster by using affinity or anti-affinity rules, which you can apply at no extra cost. Learn more about affinity rules at VMware.

There are two types of affinity rules.

• VM-Blade (aka VM-Host) affinity rules are used to specify affinity or anti-affinity between one or more virtual machines and blades (hosts).

• VM-VM affinity rules are used to specify affinity or anti-affinity between two or more virtual machines.
How to add a rule

1. Navigate to the Dedicated resources page in the Cloud Services management console.

2. Scroll down to the Affinity rules section and select which rule you’d like to Add a rule to: VM-VM or VM-Blade.

3. Choose a cluster from the dropdown menu to apply the rule to.

4. If you’ve chosen VM-VM, choose Affinity if you want to keep your VMs together and Anti-affinity if you want them separate. If you choose VM-Blade, only affinity rules apply. See the table above for VM and blade requirements. Once a rule is created, its name and type (VM-VM/VM-blade and affinity/anti-affinity) cannot be modified.

5. Choose a rule name of up to 20 characters. This name will appear in vCenter Server as [Cust ID]-[rule-name].

6. Depending on the rule you’ve chosen, from your list select at least two virtual machines to apply a VM-VM rule to or at least one virtual machine to apply the VM-Blade rule to.

7. Select to Enable or Disable the rule. Note that disabling a rule saves your inputs; it just doesn’t enforce the rule yet.

Add, edit or remove a rule

1. Navigate to the Dedicated resources page in the Cloud Services management console.

2. Scroll down to the Affinity rules section, select the type of rule (VM-VM or VM-Blade) you want to apply your changes to. The list of rules under that category will appear.

3. Select which rule you’d like to Edit or Remove. The full rule details will appear for you to review and make changes, if required. Note: rules are enabled and enforced in VMware vCenter Server subject to its distributed resource scheduler, which is configured by Telstra operators to ensure the health of your service. Factors that may prevent rules from being enabled and enforced include hardware failure, and operational, support and/or maintenance activities. If you notice your rules aren’t functioning as intended after 24 hours, you can contact us.

How do I add a blade?

You can request blades from Cloud Services management console. Choose Add Blade/Storage and select Blade from the dropdown list in the the Dedicated resources section. See the Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 user guide for details.

How do I remove a blade?

Removing a blade is upon request. You must contact us to remove blades, ensuring any virtual servers using resources on the blade won’t be affected by its removal. Early termination costs may apply.

How do I add and downsize storage?

Manage storage through the Cloud Services management console. The Dedicated resources section allows you to perform these functions. See the Virtual Server (Dedicated) Gen2 user guide for details.

How do I request a backup?

Contact your Telstra representative to request the Managed Backup service.

Can Telstra install and manage my operating systems and software?

No. You need to provide and license the operating system and application(s) required for this service.

How do I access my bill?

Your Telstra cloud email login username can’t be used to view your bill. The only way to access your bill online is to create an additional user account associated with the billing account linked to your cloud accounts. Go to the Telstra Business’ registration page to create the additional user account. If you are a Telstra customer based in Australia, after registering you’ll be able to use the new user account to log into the Cloud Services management console and view your online bill.

TIPT Commpilot changes

TIPT CommPilot is an application that allows business owners to remotely access their company’s telephony system to: customise how the business will respond to calls; manage incoming and outgoing calls; manage employees' phone numbers; and manage employees' rights. Commpilot has recently been updated to a new version (Revision 21) with some changes, including new features, that impact both Group Administrators and general users. The key changes are listed below, with more information available in the document here.

Hierarchical Communication Barring Enhancements

This allows the group administrator of an enterprise to control Hierarchical Communication Barring applied to a specific user in the group; and allows the “$” wildcard character at the beginning of the digit string.

Name Dialling Policy for Auto Attendant

This has introduced the ability to program the Auto Attendant to use dedicated name dialling last names and first names.

Call Processing Control Enhancements

This feature adds the Calling Line Identity for Redirected Calls policy to the existing Call Policies controls at both the user and virtual subscriber levels.

Extended Away Unanswered Call messaging

The voice portal has been modified to include an option to change the extended away greeting. The User can enable or disable the extended away option via the Messaging>Greetings page.

Call Recording pre-capability

There is a minor change to commPilot in the form of an option under the User>Profile>Device Policies page. This will not provide any call recording functionality until call recording is configured on TIPT in a future release.

Hunt Group Call Busy

A new policy called Enable Group Busy has been added to hunt groups. By default, this policy is turned “off”. When the policy is turned “on”, any incoming call to the hunt group triggers a busy treatment.

Announcement Repository

This feature enhances the user’s and group’s ability to add, maintain, and associate announcements that are used by services in TIPT.

Virtual Subscriber Assigned Services Reconciliation

Availability of the following services been extended: Outgoing Calling Plan, Pre-alerting Announcement, Communication Barring User-Control (CB-UC), Charge Number, and Calling Line ID Delivery Blocking.

Support of G722.2 (AMR-WB) Codec

The AMR-WB codec has been introduced to conferences and Interactive Voice Response services on the Media Server. This codec offers a sampling rate of 16 kilohertz (kHz) and uses between 6.6 to 23.85 kilobits per second (Kbps) of bandwidth. In commPilot, this new codec is now an option as the preferred codec for Call Centres, Route Points and Music on Hold services.

Internal Call CLID Policy

An administrator can now choose which CLID value (the extension, location code plus extension, or external CLID) is used as the presenting identity for internal calls.

Configurable First Digit Time-Out for Auto Attendant

Auto Attendant now supports a configurable time-out for the first digit collection when a caller is navigating through the top-level Auto Attendant menus.

Group Administrators can no configure the timeout value, the default value being 10 seconds.

Device Management Rebuild or Reset Queue Enhancements

An administrator can now monitor and control the Device Management event queues.

Messaging Server Sharing Server Licensing

A new link has been added under the messaging menu for the new Collaborate-Sharing service. This link is visible to the Group Administrator as well as the User but it has no configuration options.

Selective Criteria Enhancements for Called Number

Selective services now provide functionality on the number called in addition to the criteria already available. This is especially desired for more sophisticated fixed/mobile deployments where the “behaviour” of calls is intended to be different depending on whether the subscribers are reached via their mobile numbers. Selective services are: Call Forwarding Selective; Selective Call Rejection; TIPT Anywhere; Custom Ringback User; Executive; Executive-Assistant; Priority Alert; Selective Call Acceptance; Call Notify; Pre-alerting Announcement; Find-me/Follow-me.

Query Find-Me Follow-Me Numbers

This feature extends the ability to query a number and provide the result t numbers on which the TIPT Anywhere service is configured.

Call Decline Device Policy

A user in a Shared service (eg Shared Call Appearance) can now terminate ringing at all locations by declining the call at one of the endpoints. This terminates all ringing calls and applies the Busy treatment to the originator.

Trunk Group Availability Status Enhancements

The sendContinuousOptionsMessage Application Server configuration parameter can now enable the continual sending of SIP OPTIONS to determine the trunk group availability status. This allows an administrator to control which OPTIONS response status codes indicate an available trunk group.

Rebates are available for customers who have more than four identical blades (CPU, RAM and Storage configuration) within a single compute subscription (location). Rebates are offered in two tiers: 5-8 blades and 9+ blades. Rebates apply only to that tier and vary with configurations.

When you purchase additional blades, taking you into a higher tier, you will receive the monthly rebate for each blade in that tier for that particular configuration.

Will the tiered rebate be applied to all of my blades?

No. The rebate is only applied to the blades within the applicable tier, not every blade in that location.

How do blade tiering rebates appear on my bill?

The blade price will not be adjusted to the tiered price on your bill. You will receive a charge on your bill for each blade at the published blade price, along with a corresponding credit that matches your quantity and configuration.

For example:

If you have 9 (2 CPU, 256 GB RAM) blades for 3 years in one location, all blades aside from the four initial units are eligible for rebates. You will see:

9 blades @ $1650

4 credits @ $125 (only the 4 blades in the 5-8 tier are eligible for rebates)

1 credits @ $250 (only the 1 blade in the 9+ tier is eligible for a rebate)

Storage

How are storage tier prices determined?

Storage tiered pricing is calculated based on the monthly amount of allocated storage you have of the same type (active, performance, ultra) within a single compute subscription (location).

Storage Tier

Monthly allocation per location

Tier 0

0 -10,000 GB

Tier 1

10,001 – 100,000 GB

Tier 2

>100,001 GB

Once you have allocated past a tier threshold, any additional allocated storage will be charged at the price of the next tier.

Will the tiered price be applied to all of my storage?

No. The tiered price is only applied to the amount of allocated storage you have within the applicable tier, not all allocated storage.

How does storage tiered pricing appear on my bill?

The storage amount in each tier would appear as separate items on the bill.

For example:

If you have 50,000 GB of active storage for your compute subscription, you will see:

10,000 @ $0.15 (Tier 0 price)

40,000 @ $0.12 (Tier 1 price)

You can utilise Cisco’s open APIs to integrate Spark with the tools that run your business, enabling teams to immediately respond to opportunities and issues.

Cisco® Spark™ can be purchased both through your account executive and via the Telstra Apps Marketplace.

Pro Tip: You should always speak to a Telstra Account Executive if:

You’re looking to purchase over 200 licences

You’re seeking a richer meeting experience (greater than 25 participant requirements, recording capabilities, annotation, room control functions including roster list, recording, mute and lock rooms and other productivity based tools).

How do I find out more about the physical Spark Room Systems™ Endpoints?

Cisco® Spark™ allows you to video-enable any of your conference rooms or unused meeting spaces by plugging in a Spark Room System™ endpoint.

These Cisco video conferencing endpoints register directly to the Spark Cloud Platform. This mean you no longer have to invest in building large, complex on-premises or private cloud solutions.

Typically most meeting areas fall into one of the following categories:

Desktop Collaboration– Ideal for desk based power users or small huddle based project teams who find themselves having a lot of ad hoc meetings (up to 3 participants).

Shared Spaces– Ideal for larger huddle spaces or small agile meeting rooms that share their meeting spaces and work more flexibly (up to 5 participants).

Dedicated Meeting Room– Ideal for meeting rooms and areas dedicated to scheduled meetings (up to 10 participants).

Speak with your Account Executive to find out which working style best suits your business and we can match you with the right Cisco® Spark™ solution.

How do I know if I have sufficient bandwidth to make video calls using Spark?

To check the bandwidth available on your network, we suggest running a network test.

The Cisco® Spark™ Network Test checks the current state of your network. The results indicate whether the current settings are optimal to run Cisco® Spark™ services.

Before You Begin

For this test to run correctly, we recommend that you use the desktop version of Mozilla Firefox (version 28 and later) or Google Chrome (version 39 and later).

Run this test on a device connected to the network that you want to test for Cisco® Spark™ services.

1

In your browser, open the Cisco® Spark™ Network Test.

2

Follow the on-screen instructions to produce a report about the network connectivity.

3

Confirm that results are successful, remediate any issues as recommended in the test results
